What do we see in this work of art?
This mural “Jena Uniturm” by the artist Sergej Uchatsch, printed on canvas, shows the landmark of the Thuringian university city. The building, lovingly called the “biscuit roll” by locals, is located in the center of Jena and is visible from afar from all sides. The artist has lived in the Jena area for many years and always likes to capture the city's motifs in a mural. We at the online art gallery artlia also come from Jena and know the perspective that Sergej has chosen here. The focus of the picture is clearly on the eponymous university tower. This towers far above all the buildings and is almost completely “clad” in glass windows. Further down we see the small apartment buildings that are relatively typical of Jena, which are often inhabited by students and shape the cityscape of the center and its surroundings. More precisely, these are probably the small streets that lead to the center and are particularly popular with students because there you can find cozy bars and restaurants.
Where can this mural hang?
A mural of the artwork “Jena Uniturm” printed on canvas is a homage to Jena’s landmark, but also does not forget what actually makes the city so popular. The small streets and their catering options embody the true soul of Jena. We recommend the mural to anyone who calls Jena home, or perhaps studied here and would like to take a great personal memory with them.
