What do we see in this poster water lilies?
This mural “Water Lilies” by Korean artist Misun Kim, printed on a poster, shows a very classic Asian motif. The artist has taken on the theme of water lilies, which is often seen in local culture. We see six individual roses growing steeply upwards, the flowers stretching towards the sun. In addition, the roses are surrounded by some large leaves, which partially hide the plants behind them. At the bottom of the picture we can see a few leaves floating flat on the water. Maybe it's a pond or a lake surrounded by high mountains. The imagination knows no limits. The artist deliberately only depicted the water lilies. The background seems to disappear into a misty infinity. The upper edge of the picture is bathed in a warm orange light, the lower part of the picture in a cool blue-green light. We imagine the one rising sun illuminating and warming the tips of the water lilies, while the mist lying low over the water obscures the stems and leaves of the plants and lets us feel the coolness of the morning.
Where can this poster be hung?
This “Water Lilies” wall art printed on a poster is a very special piece of art that you cannot find anywhere else. Classic Asian motifs are rare, but Ms. Kim has particularly dedicated herself to this style. We recommend this work to every lover of Asian art who wants to call elegance and timelessness their own.
